Keeping Informed
In todays turbulent environment, keeping up to date with developments gives the opportunity to influence and prepare for change. The MCITA is committed to keeping members informed, below you will find just a few examples of the many communications we issue:
- On-line Member’s forum - MCITA members can ask and answer posted questions, make comments and get their voices heard. The DSA are keen to gain the views of as many trainers as possible on a variety of issues and comments will be collated for their use.
- 2DLD guidance - This guidance brochure was created by Nigel Osborne of Channel Rider Training to help trainers understand the requirements of the new off road test which will be introduced in March 2009. The guidance document is available below.
- Meeting reports - Members will have access to meeting reports provided by an appointed MCITA committee member. We currently hold places on:
- The Driving Standards Agency’s Safe Motorcycling Group (SMG).
- The Department for Transport’s Training Testing and Licencing Committee (TTL).
- The DSA’s COOT (Conduct Of the Off Road Test) Project Board.
- Statistics pocket guide - a monthly Statistics Booklet providing an overview of the market in terms of new motorcycle, moped and scooter registrations, compared with the previous years results. An example is available below.
- Updates from the Motorcycle Safety Committee - This committee consists of approximately 30 MCI members and invited guests and is chaired by Steve Martindale, General Manager (Motorcycles) from Honda UK. Attendees include the motorcycle press, insurers, accessory companies and all the major manufacturers.
- Newsletter - Members will receive regular newsletters covering all training and testing developments from the UK and the EU along with other useful information from the motorcycle industry. An example is available below.
